Buenos días a todos y Feliz San Juan!!!!
Muy posiblemente hoy sería el típico día en que os tendría que contar el origen de la festividad de dicho santo, que es una fiesta de origen pagano y que se celebra en muchos lugares del mundo y está directamente relacionada con el solsticio de verano.
Y hablando de verano…. los niños ya han acabado el colegio y para muchos esto nos supone una especie de puzzle a ver donde los colocamos porque los padres hemos de seguir trabajando.
Y ya que es verano, podemos aprovechar para que nuestros adolescentes, aunque lo hayan aprobado todo y tengan que hacer sus “deberes estivales” (cosa que no entiendo porque yo francamente los dejaría descansar después de un duro año, ni que decir tiene a los que lo han aprobado todo)….. pienso que es un buen momento para concienciar de la importancia de la lectura y convencerles de que coger un libro un rato cada día se puede convertir en un placer.
Leía el otro día al respecto que fomentar el hábito de la lectura en los niños, es un objetivo que tienen muchos padres. De hecho, es bastante común regalarles libros a los niños pequeños, aún a quienes todavía no saben leer. Pero cuando llegan a la adolescencia, ese entusiasmo de los padres, y sobre todo de los hijos, se va perdiendo. Las prioridades cambian, y no se hace tanto énfasis en el tema, y francamente estamos muy equivocados.
Los adolescentes tienen un casi natural rechazo a hacer en su tiempo libre, aquello que tienen que hacer por mandato curricular. Por lo tanto muchas veces, los profesores de literatura apenas logran que lean (y muy parcialmente) aquello que el programa de estudios les indica. Lamentablemente son pocos los profesores que consiguen que los adolescentes redescubran en esa etapa, el placer que sentían con los libros durante la infancia.
Tal vez uno de los aspectos más importantes sea regalarles libros de lostemas que de verdad les interesan, aún cuando no son tan afines a nuestros gustos. Porque hoy día los adolescentes leen y escriben, gracias al ordenador, mucho más que antes.
Solamente se necesita una elección adecuada, basada en los gustos e intereses personales de cada adolescente, para transformar un hábito en un placer.
Así que una vez más y de la mano de Boolino hoy voy a recomendar un libro que personalmente me ha llamado mucho la atención, por el título y su ilustración.

Tienes toda la razón. En primer lugar gracias por tu recomendación. Aún me faltan unos añitos para llegar a la adolescencia, pero todo se andará y llegará el momento.
La verdad es que poco más se puede añadir. La lectura tiene muchos beneficios, despierta la mente, la nutre, incluso se ganan valores (si la lectura y el libro son adecuados, lógico).
Pienso que para inculcarles el gran valor que tiene la lectura la clave es saber elegir, incluso dejarles elegir. No hay cosa peor que verte obligado a terminar un libro o un artículo o lo que sea que no te agrada. Puede ser contraproducente y conseguir todo lo contrario.

24 junio, 2013 at 2:31 pmYo creía que cuando los niños ya fueran más grandes, estaría mas desahogada, y en ciertos temas, lo estoy, pero con mis dos chicas son adolescentes, una en pleno y la otra pos, tienes tengo que estar todavía más pendiente, pero de otra manera. Totalmente de acuerdo de que hay que buscar el libro acorde al joven, ya que correos el peligro de que cojan odio a la lectura. Otra autora muy buena que tiene varios libros es Lucia Etxebarria.
